Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Ryd24 collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes information when you apply to drive or provide ride services through Ryd24 Driver.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: phone number, name, email address, gender, profile photo, city, account identifiers, authentication records, approval status, and preferences.
- OTP verification message: on Android, when you approve the system's one-time SMS consent prompt, the app reads that single verification message to extract the six-digit code. Ryd24 does not retain the full SMS message.
- Identity and eligibility data: Aadhaar or DigiLocker verification results, driving licence details, date of birth where provided, photographs, document review status, and information needed to verify identity, age, and driving eligibility.
- Vehicle and compliance data: registration certificate, number plate, owner or authorisation details, vehicle type, brand, model, colour, insurance, permit, pollution, fitness, and expiry or verification records.
- Location and trip data: precise location while online or completing a ride, foreground and permitted background location, availability, pickup and destination, route, distance, timestamps, ride status, OTP workflow, cancellations, fare, ratings, and trip history.
- Financial and subscription data: plan type, subscription status, earnings, fare and commission records, payment method, transaction or order identifiers, refunds, adjustments, and payment-provider responses. Ryd24 does not store full card numbers, PINs, or UPI credentials.
- Safety and support data: complaints, incident reports, communications, support messages, uploaded evidence, emergency events, and investigation outcomes.
- Device and technical data: device model, operating system, app version, language, IP address, Firebase identifiers, notification token, diagnostics, crash information, security signals, and app interaction records.
2. How we use information
- Create and secure your driver account, verify your phone number, identity, licence, vehicle, documents, and eligibility.
- Review onboarding submissions, approve or restrict platform access, and notify you about missing, rejected, reuploaded, or expiring documents.
- Show availability, match nearby ride requests, navigate to pickup and destination, update passengers, track active rides, and maintain trip records.
- Calculate fares, earnings, commissions, subscriptions, refunds, adjustments, and payment reconciliation.
- Provide notifications, safety tools, support, dispute resolution, and emergency assistance.
- Detect fraud, account sharing, document mismatch, unsafe conduct, payment misuse, false location, or manipulation of ride status.
- Maintain and improve service reliability, meet tax and accounting duties, enforce terms, and comply with transport, safety, and other applicable laws.
3. Background location and device permissions
When you go online, accept a ride, or complete a trip, driver location may be collected in the foreground and, where you grant permission, in the background. This supports nearby ride matching, passenger updates, navigation, trip progress, safety, and proof of service. Location is not intended for unrelated tracking when you are offline and not using a location-dependent feature.
Camera, photo, and file access support identity, vehicle, and document submissions. Notifications and full-screen ride alerts provide time-sensitive ride requests and trip updates. Battery-optimisation access helps active online and trip tracking remain reliable. You can change permissions in Android settings, but disabling them may prevent onboarding, online availability, matching, navigation, or active-trip functions.
4. When we share information
- Passengers: necessary ride information such as driver name and photo, rating, vehicle details, number plate, location, arrival progress, contact options, and ride status.
- Verification and service providers: DigiLocker or authorised verification providers, Google Firebase, Google Maps Platform, payment processors such as Razorpay, notification, hosting, storage, analytics, and support providers.
- Safety and legal recipients: emergency responders, insurers, professional advisers, regulators, courts, law enforcement, transport authorities, or other parties when reasonably necessary for safety, fraud prevention, legal compliance, licensing, or claims.
- Business changes: a successor or prospective successor involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, or transfer, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
Ryd24 does not sell or rent personal information for monetary consideration.
5. Retention and security
We retain information while your driver account is active and for as long as reasonably needed for onboarding, rides, passenger safety, document verification, fraud prevention, disputes, payments, subscriptions, tax, accounting, insurance, transport compliance, and legal obligations. Some ride, payment, identity-verification, and compliance records may be retained after account closure when required or reasonably necessary. When information is no longer required, we delete, anonymise, or securely archive it.
We use encrypted network connections, authentication, access controls, Firebase security rules, restricted administrative access, logging, and other reasonable safeguards. Driver documents and identity records receive restricted handling, but no internet or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Access, correction, and account deletion
You may update available profile, vehicle, document, and permission information through the app or support. To request access, correction, account deletion, or deletion of associated driver data, email us using the button below from the phone number or email linked to your account.

- Include your registered phone number and enough information for us to verify account ownership. Do not send an OTP, password, full payment credential, or unnecessary identity document by email.
- Resolve or identify any active ride, payout, subscription, dispute, or safety matter that may affect processing.
- We will verify the request and delete or anonymise data not required for passenger safety, fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, tax, accounting, transport compliance, legal claims, or regulatory obligations.
7. Eligibility, international processing, and changes
